Mayweather had intention, intention to defensively wear his opponent Pacquiao down.
Though it goes further, perhaps stance portrayal for Judges, showing you are not tired or effected.
I believe Pacquiao stated 'He did nothing' in reference to May' - which seems almost true with Pacquiao jumping about all over the place wearing himself down in which is supposed to be a 'common' ; attacking constantly.
I actually sent a comment to news.com.au about I suppose with delay round 7-8, saying Pacquiao was fatigued and basically showing weakness. They were fighting extremely different, Pacquiao was attacking trying to wear out his competitor, in an almost 'snappy distanced aggression' with obvious quite little effective blows and reach, while Mayweather pretty much stood there shrugging it off literally.
The power needed by Pacquiao for the difference in build is very real, Pacquiao would have to wear down his 'over-strength' and height of, preventing power of this use.
To some extent I agree with Pacquiao, though boxing is still about thinking like all sports, Mayweather planned ahead with tactics simply. Somewhat preplanned 'taking the punches without being effected in the slightest and showing it' - which exacerbates who is the winner regardless of punches against, perceptive of being 'largely not as phased as his opponent Pacquiao' - literally letting the opponents weaknesses and struggle to hit hard show, over-exerting the opponent and for how this fatigue and struggle is perceived, Mayweather using his natural assets in advantageous way.
Regardless Mayweather 'really' did win the fight - if is injuries is not point, we all know people 'think how they lost' after a match, injuries simply can be 'planned ahead' - unless is actual scans proving this 'injury', then it is not even worth commenting on, even so Pacquiao decided to continue fight so is fruitless afterwards.
Simply Mayweather used defensive stances while Pacquiao ran with it and wore himself down to point accuracy; was highly ineffective, his strength in punches was evident - lethal yes, but lethal enough for the difference in build/height ? No.
Though in all fairness, Pacquiao was somewhat weakened going into match, not sure if was due to this claimed injury, but I would probably say something effected his fatigue levels or bad reaction to something before fight effecting ability to maintain the pace needed. - as some will be aware the simplest of wrong foods before fight can even effect ability to endure, somewhat 'fragile' diets and extreme restrictions on food/drink intake for this level of endurance needed. - Pacquiao's lack of endurance was evident.
There may be some concern over 'taking advantage of fight; defensively' - though thinking out the fights entirety and how evolves is obviously not against rules none the less.
